Swimming pool is one of the very favorites of everyone in a house. On an overall swimming pool is places where you can relax, exercise, have fun in the water and much more. Swimming pools maintenance is very important is regard with its hygienic issues. This is due to the reason that while you are in the water, you intake the same water sometimes in which you are swimming and due to the gulping of that water one can fall sick, if cleanliness is not properly maintained. There are a number of rules to be followed while maintaining the cleanliness of a swimming pool. First of all proper swimming pool filter should be installed and fitted. It should be made sure that it works properly and regularly. It should have automatic trimmings set to maintain proper hygienic levels. Now days the most preferred pool cleaners that should be installed are called automatic pool cleaners.

These pool cleaners are of various types. Some of them are skimmer systems, booster pump systems and in-floor systems. All of these are operated automatically and there is no manual hassle in these pool cleaning systems.

The skimmer system is a very easy to go system. There are skimmers installed in the pools which help in the process of sucking the germs and unwanted materials. It is done through vacuum. The suction system is very strong and does not lead to any dirt left behind. The other system called the booster pump system is again a very powerful pool cleaning system. This system as the name explains helps in cleaning the pool through the method of pumping. It pumps inside all the dirt in water. It is attached separately to the pool. It takes water inside that is on return to the pool and cleaned and filters it, later on let go of the pure water. This way it creates a proper cleaning chain and cycle. The last automatic cleaning system is called the in-floor systems. Hey are fixed inside the floor of the pool. They are installed at the time of the building of the swimming pool. They have to be fitted inside the concrete floor of the pool and the whole circulation channel has to be designed in a well-designed way. This automatic pool cleaning system is very durable with a long life but is expensive and requires high investment costs to fit in.

While talking about the hygiene of the swimming pools, another point that has to be kept in mind is the use of chlorines and other germs killing chemicals. We have to make sure that chlorine is being used in a certain amount, as excessive use of chlorine can prove to be hazardous for the health. It also has to make sure that the chemicals being used are for dangerous for human health and does not contain strong acids or something like that.
On an overall if hygienic measures are met and maintained for a swimming pool, it can be a very good entertaining and exercising place.

Serbia: 11,000 trapped in remote villages by snow (AP)

BELGRADE, Serbia ? At least 11,000 villagers have been trapped by heavy snow and blizzards in Serbia's mountains, authorities announced Thursday, as the death toll from Eastern Europe's weeklong deep freeze rose to 114.

Those stranded live in some 6,500 homes in remote areas that cannot be reach due to icy, snow-clogged roads, emergency police official Predrag Maric said. Emergency crews were pressing hard to try to clear the snow and deliver badly needed supplies.

"We are trying everything to unblock the roads, since more snow and blizzards are expected in the coming days," Maric said.

Twenty more deaths from the cold were reported in Ukraine on Thursday, with nine more in Poland and one more each in Serbia and the Czech Republic. Officials said most of victims were homeless.

Temperatures across the region sank to minus 32.5 C (minus 26.5 F) in some areas. Parts of the Black Sea froze near the Romanian coastline and the rare snow fell on Croatian islands in the Adriatic Sea. In Bulgaria, 16 towns recorded their lowest temperatures since records started 100 years ago.

Polish government spokeswoman Malgorzata Wozniak said her country's victims were mostly homeless people under the influence of alcohol who had sought shelter in unheated buildings. Officials appealed to the public Thursday to quickly help anyone they saw in need.

In Ukraine, 63 people have perished from the cold in the last week. Nearly 950 others were hospitalized with hypothermia and frostbite and over 2,000 heated tents have been set up with hot food for the homeless.

To the south, helicopters evacuated dozens of people from snow-blocked villages in Serbia and Bosnia this week and airlifted in food and medicine.

In central Serbia, choppers pulled out 12 people, including nine who went to a funeral but then could not get back over icy, snow-choked roads. Two more people froze to death in the snow and two others are missing, bringing that nation's death toll to five.

"The situation is dramatic, the snow is up to five meters (16 1/2 feet) high in some areas, you can only see rooftops," said Dr. Milorad Dramacanin, who participated in the helicopter evacuations.

Two helicopters on Wednesday rescued people and resupplied remote villages in northern Bosnia.

"We are trying to get through to several small villages, with each just a few elderly residents," said Bosnian rescue official Milimir Doder. "All together some 200-300 people are cut off. We are supplying them for the second day with food and medication."

In the small Bosnian hamlet of Han Kran on Mt. Romanija, villagers waited for a helicopter at a flat spot that they had cleared of snow.

"We are barely coping. I live on my own ? it is a real struggle," said Radenka Jeftovic, an elderly woman wrapped in woolen scarfs and hugging a food package she received.

Goran Milat, a younger resident, complained that "the minuses are killing us."

"We are thankful for this help," he said. "But the snow did what it did and we are blocked here until spring."

Some Bosnian villages have had no electricity for days and crews were working around-the-clock trying to fix power lines.

Schools, nurseries and colleges across the region shut down, including one school in eastern Hungary that said it could not afford the high heating bills. The airport in Montenegro's capital of Podgorica was shut down for the second day Thursday because of heavy snowfall.

Estonia honors former President George W. Bush (AP)

TALLINN, Estonia ? Estonia is set to bestow former President George W. Bush with the country's highest civil award given to a foreigner for supporting its bid to join NATO in 2004.

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves on Wednesday said Bush will be decorated with the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana for being "a friend and supporter" of Estonia's foreign and security policy during his term in office.

Ilves says the award is the most honorable homage Estonia can pay to people whose work has made it "better, safer and richer."

It was not immediately clear whether Bush will attend the award ceremony in Tallinn just ahead of Estonia's Independence Day on Feb. 24.

Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton have previously received the same award.

Samsung SCX-4729FD

Basically the multi-function printer (MFP) version of the Samsung ML-2955ND ($130, 2.5 stars) that I recently reviewed, the Samsung SCX-4729FD ($250 street), adds the ability to scan to and fax from your PC, even over a network, and work as a standalone copier and fax machine. You might also consider it for personal use in any size office. At 15.1 by 15.9 by 13.3 inches (HWD), it's a bit too imposing to share a desk with comfortably. However, its footprint takes up less space than many inkjets, and it's certainly compact enough to make it easy to find room for near your desk if not on it.

Along with the basic MFP functions, the SCX-4729FD includes a 40-page automatic document feeder (ADF) to complement the letter-size flatbed, and let you scan legal-size pages. It also offers a 250-sheet paper tray, a 1-sheet bypass tray, and a built-in duplexer for printing on both sides of the page. This should be enough for most micro or home offices, but if you need a higher paper capacity, you'll have to look elsewhere, since Samsung doesn?t offer any other paper handling options.

You'll also have to look elsewhere if you need WiFi support, but won't have to look very far. The similarly named SCX-4729FW ($280 street) is the identical printer, according to Samsung, but with WiFi added.

Samsung SCX-4729FD

Speed
Setting up the SCX-4729FD on a wired network and installing the driver and software on a Windows Vista system was absolutely typical. On our business applications suite, I timed the printer (using QualityLogic's hardware and software for timing), at 8.2 pages per minute (ppm). Not too surprisingly, considering both printers use the same engine, this makes it essentially tied with the ML-2955ND.

As is the case with the ML-2955ND, the speed is slower than I'd expect for the 29 ppm rating, which should be close to the speed you'll see printing straight text files. In comparison, the Editors' Choice Canon imageClass MF4570dn ($299 direct originally, now $249 direct, 4 stars), with a slightly lower rating, came in at 12.3 ppm. Even more telling is that the Canon imageClass MF4570dw ($299, 3.5 stars) is faster than the Samsung printer, at 9.8 ppm, despite being slowed down by printing in duplex by default.

Output Quality and Other Issues
The SCX-4729FD is also essentially identical to the ML-2955ND for output quality. The text is just below par for a mono laser, which still makes it good enough for most business use. Unless you have an unusual need for small fonts, you shouldn't see any problem with it.

Graphics quality is easily good enough for any internal business need. Whether you consider it good enough for PowerPoint handouts or other material going to potential clients or customers will depend largely on how critical an eye you have. Photos, similarly, are good enough to print recognizable photos from Web pages or the like. Whether you consider them good enough for, say, a client newsletter will depend on the level of quality you demand.

Very much worth mention is that although the SCX-4729FD offers essentially the same capability as the Canon imageClass MF4570dn, it loses out to the Canon printer for Editors' Choice only because of the significantly slower speed and slightly lower output quality overall. On the other hand, the Samsung printer offers a lower claimed running cost, at 3 cents per page. That's a 0.9 cents savings per page, or $9 savings per 1,000 pages, compared with the Canon printer. The more you expect to print, the more likely you'll put a higher value on the lower running cost.

In any case, the Samsung SCX-4729FD covers all the bases for most small office needs, from printing, scanning, copying, and faxing, to an ADF for handling legal size pages and multi-page documents for scanning, to paper handling that includes automatic duplexing and ample capacity. Despite being relatively slow, it's not slow enough for its speed to be an issue for most small offices, and the output quality is good enough for most purposes. Add in the slight savings on running cost compared to the Canon printer, and if you expect to print enough pages, it may be your preferred choice.
